The comedy-drama Housefull 4 hit the theatres today. The fourth installment of Housefull series features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda in the lead. Housefull 4 has been making headlines before the release.

The result of the Maharashtra election which took place on 21st October is out today. It looks like the BJP and Shiv Sena are all set to get back to power in the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis.

Ajaz Khan who tried many attempts to get the MIM ticket of Mumbra Assembly Constituency. But after not getting ticked he filed independent nomination at the last moment and was fighting from Byculla.

Today, when the votes are counted, Ajaz Khan was languishing in the sixth position. He is trailing the current leader who is Shiv Sena’s Yamini Yashwant Jadhav by over 36,000 votes.

Ajaz Khan managed to get 1596 votes which are even less than NOTA. NOTA in Byculla got 2103 votes. After the result, Twitter has some tweets to troll Khan.

In Hyderabad, Swiggy Customer Refuses To Accept Delivery From Muslim Man

A Swiggy customer in Hyderabad’s old city refuses to accept the food delivery from the boy as he was Muslim. Ajay Kumar, the customer who lives in Adilabad ordered Chicken 65 from Grand Bawarchi restaurant at Falaknuma using Swiggy.

While ordering, Ajay mentioned that his preferences were: “Very less spicy. And, please select Hindu delivery person. All ratings will be based on this.”

The incident is of Monday and came to light on Wednesday when the delivery boy Mudassir Omar (32) lodged a complaint with Shalibanda police station. Police are yet to register a case while Swiggy hasn’t reacted to the issue.

Ajay got upset when he received the call from Mudassir to ask the exact address. Mudassir said:

“He asked my name and when I revealed my identity, he was angry. Customer shouted at me for not honoring his preferences. He said he was rejecting the delivery because I was a Muslim.”

Later, Ajay called the Swiggy customer care and was engaged in the argument. He was recorded saying that he preferred delivery only by a Hindu delivery boy and would never accept it from a Muslim.

He said to cancel the order and refund the amount. The executive said the cancellation charges will be 95. Ajay didn’t mind canceling the order.

Mudassir said Swiggy didn’t assign as per religion. “It was automatically assigned to me by the system which follows the GPS. Since I stay nearby, the order was assigned to me,”

A similar incident happened in July when a Jabapular man canceled the order due to the same reason on the Zomato platform. Zomato’s CEO Deepinder Goyal tweet defending his company delivery boy and won the internet with a tweet.

An IAS officer, Dr. Konsam Shyamsunder Singh in Manipur, Imphal who got married in 2009 and has 3 children with his wife. Her wife, Dr. Ranjita Achom, a 41-year-old assistant professor at Imphal’s Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). Dr. Ranjita came to know about the extra-marital affair and went to court.

She filed a case in a Manipur court against her husband and his 33-year-old live-in partner, Ms.Yambem Puni. She sought ₹10 crores in damages for “loss of consortium and mental agony” caused by their “illicit” relationship.

The case was heard on Septemeber 13th. Dr. Singh confessed to his “illicit” relationship with Ms. Yambem Puni. Ms. Puni in the court sought the status of his “second wife” as they had completed a “Loukhatpa ceremony” (locally recognized marriage/acceptance ceremony) in 2016.

Under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955, Judge Y. Somorjit Singh said that Ms. Puni cannot be considered as “the second wife.” Mr. Singh said:

“Live-in relationship with a married person amounts to intentionally alienating one spouse from the other – it is an important tort – wife, and children of the married party can sue the other party to relationship for damages.”

On October 18th, Under tort law, Judge ordered the compensation in three parts ₹10 lakh for “causing mental distress”; another ₹10 lakh for “lowering the reputation of the legal wife in the eyes of the society”, and ₹50 lakh for “punitive or exemplary damages.”

Dr. Achom demanded ₹10 crores but the judge said there is no formula in India to compute the compensation with the regard of the case and hence ordered to pay ₹70 Lakhs.

The world is the same for everyone, with disabilities or without. The number of disabled people is high enough but often people with disabilities have to face problems. Recently, two disable activists are said to allegedly face humiliation at Kolkata airport when travelling to New Delhi.

One of the flyers was Jeeje Ghosh, who was the Election Commission’s poster girl and has cerebral palsy. She was told by GoAir officials that she cannot travel unaccompanied. She had to wait for more than an hour and felt humiliated as she traveled the world all alone.

Talking to Times Of India, Jeeje Ghosh said:

“I had requested for a wheelchair, but that took ages to arrive. When I contacted the airline, the person who answered said they were short-staffed. When I finally managed to reach the check-in counter, the staff said I could not fly unescorted and that I would have to wait till others arrived.”

A Taxi driver in Delhi duped a US citizen as soon as he was landed in the Indian capital. The cabbie told the US Man that city is being shut down due to the festival and snatched over ₹90,000 from him.

George Vanmeter, the US citizen landed in Delhi on October 18th. He booked a cab from the airport to Paharganj where he had booked his stay in the hotel. On the way, the driver identified as Ram Preet tried to convinced Vanmeter that city is shut down due to the festival.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Eish Singhal said:

“He told the tourist that the roads are closed due to the festive season and took him to a fake tour agency in Connaught Place. The staff there told him that the city was closed and even connected him to a ‘representative’ of the hotel in Paharganj who told him that the property was closed.”

Unconvinced Vanmeter took an auto-rickshaw and asked him to drop the same location where he has booke a hotel. The driver said the same thing that the city is closed due to the festival and offered him help. The auto driver then took him to Gole Market to what he claimed was a travel agency.

At the fake travel agency, he had to rebook his entire tour package to Agra and Jaipur. He paid them the money and went to Agra.

The complete incident came in light after the tourist called up at Paharganj hotel and asked for the refund. The US Man then realized of being cheated. Vanmeter then filed a police complaint in Delhi against the cab driver and all involved.

Police have arrested the cab driver and filed a case of cheating against him while the others accused are absconding.
