All of us are staying in homes as 21 days lockdown is processing in the nation. As everything stopped suddenly, daily wagers from different states are rushing back to their native place.

Seven tribal migrant laborers have set an example of self-awareness. The laborers have returned from Chennai to Purulia district in Kolkata have quarantine themselves on trees.

Their families live in a small mud-hut and have no individual rooms they realized their presence can invite danger to their family members as well. None of them entered their village.

All seven laborers are from Bhangidih village and arrived in Kharagpur last Sunday on the day of Janta Curfew. They consulted the doctor and no one found to be infected but the doctor advised them to self-quarantine for 14 days. We arrived outside our village on Monday but did not enter there.

They contacted their friends and relatives and got all the required arrangements to stay on branches of the trees. In an interview with TOI, Bijoy Sing Laya, one of the laborers, said:

“Now we are on our own, we will be staying here comfortably maintaining all rules. In the morning we are served breakfast here. In the afternoon and evening, we are served with rice. Water is also available here. We also have a stove to boil the water and cook food.”

They are also not allowing their family members to touch the utensils. They wash it using soap and keep it back on the ground before we climb up again.

Dhrubapada Shandilya, the block development officer of Balarampur, said no compliment was enough for the seven men. He said — We are also thinking of how the local administration can help them.

From Delhi Walking To Home A Delivery Boy Dies After Walking 200 Kms On Highway

Amid countrywide lockdown, due to the novel coronavirus, people working in different cities are walking towards home as there is no means of transportation available nationwide. People in thousands of numbers have started to walk from Delhi as they are not left with shelter and food.

As everything is closed except essential service these people are not left with a choice. A  38-Year-Old man walked over 200 km from Delhi to reach his home in Madhya Pradesh after the lockdown was announced died on the way.

The man died is identified as Ranveer Singh who works as a delivery agent for a restaurant in Delhi. He was among the thousands of migrants who are desperately trying to reach their home as they are left with no shelter, food, money, and jobs.

All of them are covering the journey of hundreds of kilometers on foot. This all happened after transportation including trains, buses stopped in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The police said that the victim collapsed on National Highway-2 after he complained with his fellow of chest pain. A local hardware store owner Sanjay Gupta rushed to the victim and offered him tea and biscuit. But soon, Ranveer Singh had a heart attack and died. The man was about 80 km away from his village.

Arvind Kumar, Sikandra station house officer (SHO) said:

“Gupta made the victim lie down on a carpet and offered him tea and biscuit. The victim complained about chest pain and also called his brother-in-law Arvind Singh over phone to share his health condition.”

“At around 6.30 pm, the victim passed away and local police was informed.  On the entire NH-2 stretch, UP policemen are present with food packets and water for such persons but Ranveer’s death is unfortunate.”

Policemen sent the victim body for postmortem.

There are more than thousands of daily wagers on the road struggling to reach their home. The government has also given instructions to the state government either to arrange shelters or help them reaching there home.

In one of the bizarre news, a baby girl born on Sunday has been named Corona in Gorakpur, Uttar Pradesh. The girl was born on the day of Janta Curfew when the country was stopped after the Prime Minister called for it.

The baby, born in Sohgaura village, has already become the talk of the town.

The girl’s uncle, Nitesh Tripathi, said that he decided to name the baby after the deadly virus because it has unified the world on one issue. He also said that he has taken the permission of the mother as well.

“The virus is no doubt dangerous and it has killed so many people in the world, but it has also inculcated many good habits in us and brought the world closer. This baby will be the symbol of people’s unity to fight the evil,” he said.

Three of the convicts (Akshay Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta and Vinay Sharma) of the Nirbhaya case wrote a letter to the judges of the International Court of Justice seeking a stay of their executions.
