Hundreds Attend Karnataka Temple Festival With No Mask, No Social Distancing

0

India is in a situation of bother as Coronavirus cases are rising at a decent speed. The country has grabbed 4th spot as cases around 10,000 are coming in per day. In such a serious situation, hundreds of people gathered in Karnataka’s Haveri district today.

People gather to celebrate an annual temple festival without a mask and no social distancing followed.

In the video, devotees were seen without a mask, gathered in narrow streets and running in. They gathered to witness the traditional “wagon race” — an ornate bullock cart procession – said to be an important part of the festival to worship lord Ramalingeshwara.

The district administration has decided to file a case against the group of people. The authorities have granted permission for ritual and had canceled the wagon race. The state government has also allowed opening on religious premises but no permission is given for religious fairs and events.

During full lockdown in Tamil Nadu, hundreds gather for the funeral of a bull. Also in Karnataka, hundreds gather for a religious festival at a COVID-19 hotspot.

The Roti-Parotta Debate On GST Are Rolling Out Hilarious Memes

I have no idea how to tell this out but Parotta is not roti. Yes, according to the Indian Government Parotta is not roti.

And the other important point here is the Good and Service Tax (GST) which is imposed on both the bread. Roti fetches 5% GST while Parotta has labeled with 18% GST.

Here is the logic

“The authority held that whole-wheat Porotta and Malabar Porotta do not fall under the heading of “Khakhara, plain chapati or roti” taxed at the rate of 5%. Since they “need to be heated before consumption” unlike ready-to-eat rotis, 18% GST would be applicable.”

However, Twitter isn’t impressed and began to poke fun.
