Director of the Social Centre at Ajman Police Captain Wafa Khalil Al Hosani told Gulf News that the centre received one of the most bizarre cases where a young 20-something woman has filed for divorce with her husband after he stopped her from playing the online battle game.

The husband said that he feared that her Wife might get addicted to online gaming. The man wanted her to focus on her duties towards her home and family. Captain Al Hosani said:

“The woman justified her demand for divorce by saying that she was being deprived of her right to choose her means of entertainment as she derived pleasure and comfort from the game. It was well within limits. She said, that she had not activated the chat option where she would be exposed to strangers. And was playing the game only with her friends and relatives.”

The man told the police officer that he did not expect things would end this way, with his wife asking for a divorce.

Kids getting addictive to this game is not new. Several cases in India also came into light. A teenager robbed ₹50K from father’s account to buy PUBG items. In Maharashtra, two kids were mowed down by a train while playing the game. In Karnataka, a boy writes all about PUBG in exams and few more as the list goes on.
