Let it be food, shelter, living with loved once, or any help. migrant workers are struggling.
The migrant workers are desperately trying to reach home. They are walking hundreds of kilometers. And the number of fatalities are reported. In another tragic incident a pregnant migrant worker delivers a baby on the way.
A migrant laborer’s pregnant wife walked over 100 km from Ludhiana in Punjab, delivered a girl child after reaching Ambala in Haryana but the baby died shortly after birth. The couple is in their early 20’s and has decided to walk back to their home after the lockdown.
They started their journey last week and on when they reach Ambala city the woman gave birth to a female child. However, the baby died immediately after birth. This was couples first child after they got married two years ago.
Bindia and her husband Jatin Ram tried to get the registration in special trains but failed. They decided to walk and while walking Bindia became very weak as there was no proper diet a pregnant woman is needed.
After reaching Ambala, the lady had a labor pain. She was taken to the hospital, where she delivered the baby but unfortunately she didn’t survive.
Now, an NGO has come forward in helping them with food and also arranging them safe travel in Shramik Special train.
