Parle G is everyone’s go-to biscuit. A familiar household name. And in this lockdown, the company has achieved a unique feat as it sold the highest number of biscuits packets since 1938.
While many companies struggle to survive, Parle said that March, April, and May the company experienced the best months in their eight decades.
During the coronavirus lockdown, the sales of the biscuits went up massively in the country as people stock up the essentials. Parle Products currently has 130 factories all over India with 120 of them continuously producing units. Mayank Shah, category head at Parle Products said:
“We’ve grown our overall market share by nearly 5%… And 80– 90% of this growth has come from Parle-G sales. This is unprecedented.”
