Costing £848,750 ($1.1m US), a bottle of Macallan Valerio Adami is the most expensive in the world.
Only 12 bottles of the 60-year-old spirit with this particular design were released. This was the Number 5 signed by a famed Italian artist.
It was purchased by a private collector in Asia who bid over the phone. Yup.! Sold on a phone call.
Starting price was $27,000. In 2007 auction a bottle was sold for $75,000. The recent purchase was made at a Dubai airport costing $600,000. It is incredibly rare for “The Macallan” 1926 to be made available for purchase.
It is not clear how many premium bottles are remaining but, in 2011 one of the bottles was destroyed in an earthquake in Japan and at least one is believed to have been drunk.
Whoo.!! $1.1 million (Above 6.11 Cr) for a single bottle of whisky. It’s huge, very huge.
