Twitter has been testing Fleets for quite some months now. The social media platform has finally officially announced Fleets in India which works similar to the stories on other platforms. The Fleets will disappear after 24 hours. The new Twitter feature will be available for both iOS and Android users in the country in the upcoming days.
Fleet won’t circulate on Twitter’s network, show up in Search or Moments, and cannot be embedded on a third-party website. Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director at Twitter India said:
“India is important for Twitter since it is one of our largest and fastest-growing audience markets globally. We are excited to bring the Fleets experiment to India and make it one of the first three countries in the world to experience this new product.”
Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube all have the stories feature. And Twitter is the last major platform to come up with this feature.
However, netizens are not impressed by Twitter latest feature:

The best part about fleets is that you can post a cricket video and BCCI won’t be able to suspend your account. #fleets

Dear @Twitter I didn’t need #fleets. I don’t miss having a feature like this when I tweet. What I do miss is having the ability to edit small mistekes in tweets that I post without having to delete them & post corrected versions. Thanks muchly #FleetsFeedback
