PV Sindhu who is contesting her third consecutive BWF World Championships final finally won it in her third attempt. She was playing her familiar rival Nozomi Okuhara and won the game quite comfortably in Basel, Switzerland

The final, since started was entirely in the favour of Indian star and was displaying some attacking game. In 38 minutes she won 21-7 in both the games and didn’t give time to her opposition to react.
Sindhu became the first Indian to win Gold at World Championships title. She also became the second player ever to win 5 World Championship medals.
