With 6th Title At World Boxing Championship, Mary Kom Creates History.

Mary Kom creates history, as she wins the World Boxing Championship today in New Delhi. She outclassed Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the women’s 48 kg light flyweight final at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium. After winning the title for record 6th time, Indian boxer couldn’t hold her tears in front of the home fans.

After three rounds of boxing, Kom was declared the champion by a 5-0 unanimous decision. The gigantic victory fetched her sixth World Championship title.

The 35-year-old Mary Kom outclassed Ukrainian opponent Hanna Okhota in the women’s 48 kg light flyweight final.

 “I want to thank the fans who turned up today to cheer me and the Indian contingent. They have been supporting me for last many years.”

Nation bowed down to Mary Kom’s incredible achievement

Previously Mary Kom had won the gold medal in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010 editions of the Championships.
