The first El Clasico is just days away and due to play in Barcelona’s home Camp Nou. The ongoing proteas and political tension have set La Liga worried. La Liga has requested Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to shift the game from Camp Nou to Real Madrid’s home Santiago Bernabeu.
Statement from La Liga: “We have requested the competitions committee of the RFEF to meet and change the location of El Clasico to Madrid because of exceptional circumstances beyond our control.”

If this happens, the reverse fixture on March 1st, 2020, can be played in Camp Nou.

Real Madrid has rejected La Liga’s decision to reverse the venue. However, Los Blancos are ready for the rescheduling of the fixture looking at the seriousness of the situation. Madrid will not accept the game moved away from Comp Nou.

Barcelona also has rejected the proposed idea by La Liga and will play only at Camp Nou.

Not only this, the Catalan club is due to play this weekend away to Eibar and the proteas and tensions are also affecting Barcelona 550 km trip to Eibar as the club is looking for options for travelling.
