On day one of third test Kerry O’Keefe questioned the level of domestic cricket in India by producing some harsh comment on debutant Mayank Agarwal. For his disrespectful comment, he wasn’t spared on twitter and apologised later in the day.
It was on the day 4 of the third test Kerry O’Keefe had made another controversial statement while commenting for Fox Sports.
While on air Shane Warne, asked him about his trouble pronouncing Indian names like Ravindra Jadeja and Cheteshwar Pujara, Kerry O’Keeffe responded to Warne by saying, “Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar, Jadeja,” which were followed by chuckles from his fellow commentators.
Twitter lashed out on his comment then and are giving him the same treatment again.
The worst piece of racist commentary I’ve ever seen. Kerry O’Keefe saying “Why would you call your kid Cheteshwar Jadeja?” accompanied with cackled laughter. Shameful bunch. pic.twitter.com/UPUiCpUgJe

Has O’Keefe already decided that he is doing his final commentary stint? Coz this ain’t comms. These are just bad, racist remarks. #AUSvIND

The sad part about this is that KOK takes his commentary damn seriously. By most accounts, he is a top-class student of the game and diligently keeps notes. The global audience is not getting the best of him. As a long-time ABC listener, I hope we can soon see the best of him

@FoxCricket commentary in this test has been really bad.. Kerry O’Keefe in his recent commentary says
“Why would you name your kids Cheteshwar, Jadeja?” and goes on laughing.. Not sure what’s so funny about this.. 😐🤷🏻♂️ #AusvInd— Sathyanarayan R (@rsathya92) December 29, 2018
Why *wouldn’t* you call your kid Chetheshwar Jadeja?
Hey @SonyLIV you’ll lose a paying customer of you don’t stop streaming commentary from the utterly racist Kerry O’Keefe.

Ah the lovely Kerry O’Keefe is at it again. “Why would you name your kid Cheteshwar Jadeja” he says on air. Accompanied by cackling giggles, and said in a tone that drips with what increasingly sounds like casual racism.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s one thing to attempt to humour, however manufactured, but Kerry O’Keefe in particular has only made a fool of himself when talking about most things Indian through this series. Borderline racist, exposes his own limitations as commentator. #AUSvIND https://t.co/uxdg4mexYU

He is at it again! The broadcasters need to have a serious word (if not more) with Kerry O’Keefe.
First the “canteen staff” jibes and questioning the credentials of Mayank Agarwal and the domestic cricket structure in India and now this! #AUSvIND #INDvAUS #TeamIndia #KerryOKeefe https://t.co/4z16bCu0TN— Ameya Tilak (@ameyatilak) December 29, 2018
