Indian Premier League has reached its third half of the season, that means more fun, more thrilling matches. The race to the playoff is getting tough match after match. Top six teams of the table still have a fair chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged as the best team of the tournament so far, having the best bowling attack as well as a handy batsman. Chennai Super Kings are back after two long years in IPL are doing very well under Dhoni ’s captaincy. Chennai and Hyderabad look like will grab the top two spots in the table.
Under the captaincy of R. Ashwin Kings XI Punjab are sitting third in the table. With three matches still to play. Punjab and Kolkata sit equal on the points table with Kings XI Punjab having one game in hand compared to Kolkata Knights Riders.
Mumbai Indians under the leadership of Rohit Sharma had the same journey of previous years, but as their ship started sinking, they came back strong, sitting 5th in the table demolishing Kolkata and winning by over 100 runs which favoured them by improving their run rate by a huge margin.
They still have a long road ahead to fix their place in the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals are going toe to toe with Mumbai, both have played 11 matches, winning 5 and losing 6, each having 10 points in their bag with 3 to play.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils both have graved bottom two spots of the table with 8 points and 6 points each in 11 and 12 matches respectively. They both need some huge favours from all the other teams which seems almost impossible scenario.
If they need to qualify, they both want Chennai and Hyderabad to win all their matches expect against them and other teams to lose all their games. Qualifying for these two teams looks like a very much unlikely scenario.
