Gourav Mukhi — The Youngest Ever Goal Scorer In ISL Is Actually 28 YO. Suspended For Lying

Gourav Mukhi became the poster boy by becoming the youngest ever in the history of Indian Super League. In October he scored his first ISL goal for his team Jamshedpur FC. On paper, his age was 16 and it was a matter of debate since then.

His DOB in Facebook Profile was 5 April 1999

Things turned against him because the player is sporting a fine moustache. Several questions raised after having a fine beard at the age of 16 and things unfolded rapidly. His Facebook profile speaks his age above 18.

AIFF (All India Football Federation) interfered in the issue and took the matter in their hands. On questing the Jamshedpur FC forward about his age, Gaurav Mukhi wasn’t able to give a satisfactory explanation.

“The AIFF Disciplinary Committee found the player Gourav Mukhi guilty by the evidence presented by him, his admissions and the statements of Manager of U-16 AIFF academy in 2015,” reads a statement from the All India Football Federation.
