FIFA World Cup 2018: Close Look On Portugal Vs Spain

On day two of FIFA World Cup, it was Cristiano Ronaldo’s night in Sochi, Russia. He marked his presence in tournament with a hat-trick. Portugal and Spain played out one of the World Cup classic. It was a 3-all draw with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring hat-trick.

Cristiano Ronaldo who never scored against Spain was in some exceptional touch. In the 4th minute of the game Ronaldo scored the penalty which he won against Nacho. In starting stages of game Portugal tactics were playing the long ball but later changed their style of play.

It was in 24th minute Spain striker Diego Costa with some handy footwork level up the scoreline. It was all Spain in the later stage of the first half.

Isco with one of the shots just the post to save it. It was in 44th minute Spain’s stop stopper David De Gea blunder came and against all the odds Ronaldo scored his and Portugal’s second goal to go a goal up at the break.

As the team came out for the second half. It was the Spain goal which lighted up the second half in the 55th minute again by their talisman Diego Costa. After equalising the scoreline for the second time, Nacho Fernandez with some super strike just three minutes later scored for Spain. Which of course gave lead to Spain for the first time in the game.

As the game progressed it looks like to have settled in Spain’s favour but you can’s Ronaldo had some other plans. It was in the 88th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo with a sensational effort from the free-kick to which De Dea didn’t even move.

Ronaldo completes his 51st treble, which is also 51st treble in the world cup. Portugal talisman became the 4th player in history to score in four consecutive world cup tournaments. He also became the 1st player in the history of the game to score in eight successive major tournaments.

In the other two fixture of the day. It was just a single goal in stoppage time to give Uruguay and Iran three points. Uruguay’s Jose Gimenez who scored a header from a dead ball for Uruguay’s victory. In the other game, it was Aziz Bouhaddouz who scored own goal in the 95th minute to hand Iran three points.
