Champions League: Real Madrid Progress To Third Consecutive Finals

It was Real Madrid who came on top after 180 mins of football played in Munich and Madrid. Bayern Munich gave tough competition to their opposition, but they had all to blame themselves to be crashed out of UEFA Champions League.

Bayern Munich started the game on the front foot, taking the lead in just 2th minute through Joshua Kimmich which he eases past Real Madrid stop stopper, but 8 minute later Real Madrid’s No. 9 equalized by heading the cross of Marcelo in the back of the net, which gave Real Madrid the upper hand in the tie.

Bayern Munich was the bright side and got enough chances but could not convert them into goals which let them down and out of Europe’s most prestigious competition. It was a horrible error from Sven Ulreich which gave Karim Benzema 2nd of the night.

As it was just a 5 feet tap in from striker to give Real Madrid 2-1 lead on the night and 4-2 on aggregate. It was Corentin Tolisso who finds himself in trouble just 22 seconds after the second half begins and passed the ball in his penalty areas, Bayern Goal Keeper first thought of picking up the ball latter realizing of back pass and trying to play it in the end, as a result, missed both and gifted Real Madrid a goal.

Later on, in the 62nd minute, it was Real Madrid loanee James Rodriguez who scored and made 2-2 on the night, which gave Jupp Heynckes side some hope of scoring another to knock Real Madrid out and get just a step away from European glory.
On several occasion, German Champions came close to scoring but could not ease past the Los Blancos wall. Navas was excellent and made some super stops which came continuously from the other side.

Liverpool will play out Roma in the 2nd semi-final of the Champions League with Liverpool having a 5-2 advantage. Going by quarter-final tie against Barcelona and easing past three goals you can’t count Roma out of the competition. We will have to wait for another day to find out who will join Real Madrid in Kyiv on the 27th of May.
