Twitter Reacts With Memes As Power Cut In Mumbai Due To Grid Failure

Mumbai is on a standstill after a grid failure caused a widespread power outage on Monday. Juhu, Andheri, Mira Road, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Panvel are the worst affected areas due to the power cut.

The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST), which is responsible for supplying power to Mumbai, has confirmed the development. “Due to grid failure, the supply of power in the city is disrupted,” a BEST spokesperson said.

A little girl holding the hands of her younger brother was hanging from the edge of the terrace of a house at a village near Manapparai. The boy was rescued by a street vendor. The video went viral on social media.

According to sources, the Children were identified as Kavi (6) and Edric Ezhil (4) of Palayakottai village near Manapparai. The incident reportedly occurred a few days ago in the afternoon.

The children’s parents John Peter and Jancy Mary were construction workers and went for work leaving the children in their house.

A street vendor named Mohammed Salik (41), who was selling house cleaning items on-road, noticed the children in danger and rushed to help. While the vendor was standing below the boy, the girl loosened her hand. The vendor was able to catch the boy while falling.

Being home alone the little children were playing around their house as well as on the terrace. While playing and running around the boy Ezhil slipped from the terrace and however managed to get clutched to the wall.

On seeing her brother hanging from the wall, his sister Kavi acted quickly and grabbed hold of her brother’s hands. Having the firm hold on her brother’s hand, Kavi raised alarm seeking neighbor’s help to save her brother.

The whole incident was captured by a neighbor on a mobile phone. Later, on knowing about the rescue, locals appreciated Salik for his valor towards saving the child.

Upma is another popular breakfast most common in the Southern part of India. It can be made very quickly with very few ingredients. Rava, Urad dal, Chopped onion (if you want), Green chili, lemon, and water. And a few spices to are needed.

You can also use peanuts, Cashew if you have time. For a quick one, use the main ingredients and serve it with sev.

Masala Kichadi:

Another quick recipe needs limited veggies and healthy too. Also called as moong dal masala khichdi. To make this, you need moong dal and rice. Veggies such as onion, tomatoes. You can also add potatoes and capsicum. 10-12 drops of lemon.

Add you the spices. Let it take 3-4 vessels in a pressure cooker. The smell while cooking will bring water into your mouth. One more easiest recipe is done.

Pro Tip: Use around 1 tablespoon of chana dal, if quantity is for one person.

Cheese Garlic Bread:

Garlic bread is the most loved side dish with Pizza. But, can act as a main dish if serving for other than lunch or dinner. To make you need bread, garlic, butter, herbs and cheese. Chop garlic very finely and mix it with butter. Apply garlic butter on both the side and sprinkle herbs and a cheese slice.

Bake it on Tawa or a sandwich maker. Once done pull it out and cut it into 4 straight slices and there you go. Ready to eat.

Spinach and Corn Sandwich:

Sandwichs are love and are famous all over. Another on the list. And completely with all the new taste and new ingredients. Here you need Spinach and Corn as the main veggies. Green chutney and ketchup as well. Butter and Cheese. Maida and Milk. The last salt and pepper.

Boil the spinach and corn separately. Now, heat a pan and put 50gms butter on it. Once butter melted. Put 1tbsp of maida, mix it properly and add 3-4tbsp of milk. After it is mixed properly. Drop spinach and corn. Mix them for 2-3 minutes and also add salt and pepper add cheese slices to it as per you like.

Lastly, stuff it in the bread and bake it on Tawa or Sandwich maker. Cut them into four and serve it with green chutney and ketchup.

White Sauce Pasta:

Another most loved side dish with Pizza. But, can act as a main dish if serving for other than lunch or dinner. White Sause Pasta is quick to make but needs few extra ingredients.

You need to make white Sause which requires butter, Aata, milk, pepper powder and salt. The Pasta’s need to be boiled. Pasta, water and a pinch of salt. You can add onion and capsicum if you want.

Oregano and red chili flakes. You can also add cheese if you want.

Bread Pizza:

Never will you ever look at those leftover pieces of bread.  All you need to have is a few ingredients and your delightful snack is ready. In veggies, you need an onion, capsicum and tomato.
