A minor girl is sexually assaulted for a period of two years by a group of around 30 people in Kerala’s Malappuram district, police said on September 22.
The police team who is investigating the case has arrested two people who are directing the role of minor’s father. The vicitim is 12-YO and a student of class VIIth.
According to Rebuplic World “In her statement, the victim has accused 30 persons. They had sexually abused minor girl for the last two years. The victim has not been successful in identifying the alleged persons.”
The incident first came into light when the school teachers observed the child is regularly missing the school. The 12-YO remains mentally disturbed and was counseled in school. Later, the school authorities informed childline authorities.
After which the survivor was produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Malappuram on September 22. After which the minor is shifted to a Children’s Welfare home in Malappuram.
As per TOI, “Anwar Karakkadan of Child-line Malappuram told that the girl was the only child in the family, and they were staying in a rented house. He said that the girl has revealed that there were frequent visitors in their home, including her father’s friends, and the numbers would increase during school holidays. She was forced to skip school.”
The accused are booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
