22-Year-Old Who Broke Spinal Cord While Performing Back-flip For TikTok, Died

A 22-year-old man broke his spinal cord while performing a backflip for popular video app TikTok died in Bengaluru’s Victoria Hospital on Sunday, June 23.

Kumaraswamy was seriously injured while performing a stunt at a school ground on June 15, said the police, adding that he died without responding to treatment at Victoria Hospital.

Reported by Indian Express, Kumaraswamy, the lone breadwinner for his family. He was working as a singer and dancer in a local orchestra.

According to family members, he did not own a smartphone. His friends were recording his stunts to upload on TikTok.

Madras High court had banned the App, however, later revoked the order. A few days ago a 12-year-old Rajasthan boy hanged himself in the bathroom as a part of TikTok challenge. And this is not the only case the video-sharing app users are going far away to bring out the different videos and risking the life.
