Pranks are usually fun only if done within a few conditions. Crossing the line makes trouble for all the parties involved. A Mumbai tried to play a prank with the Mumbai cop which later ended him behind the bar.
36 Year old resident of Mumbai Shivkumar Gautam made a call to the assistant police inspector Vinod Jadhav on 3rd January.
He told a cop that some men have abducted him at Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway and carrying him to an unknown destination. Later he turned off his mobile.
The Police team reached the area to get some information. Police tried to trace the location of the device. They also interrogated the residents and shopkeeper but failed.
Later police decided to visit man’s home to get some information from his family members. A team visited in the early hours of 4th January and were shocked to find him asleep. Later when police questioned Shivkumar Gautam, he admitted to it being a fake call for fun. He even went on to say that he didn’t think his call would be taken seriously.
A police team arrested him under IPC section 182(for providing false information, with an intention to make a public servant use his lawful power to the injury of another.) Later he was fined ₹1,000 by court and case was dismissed.
36 YO man doing such irresponsible activities for the sake of the fun is utterly immature behaviour. Cops must ensure these activities shouldn’t be repeated, and we all as citizens of the country should not be doing this at first place.
