In Janakpuri, Lucknow a woman is dumbed to ₹40,000 when she tried to cancel the movie tickets online.

Times Of India reported that the victim Janhavi booked 4 tickets on March 30th. Later, she cancelled the tickets in the stipulated period.

“Later, I cancelled the tickets within the stipulated period. However, the amount wasn’t credited to my account. So I called up the website’s customer care, but the agent snapped at me,”

She didn’t receive the refund for the canceled movie ticket. She called customer care to inquire about the refund status. The victim further said that she received a call after some time.

The fraudster who pretended to be the executive of the website asked the woman about her card details so, he can initiate the refund process. But instead of getting her money back, her account revealed a debit of ₹40,000.

The case is registered with Lucknow cyber cell but, no arrests are made yet.

All the banks had appealed multiple times to its customer to not share any sensitive information with anyone over the phone or through any other process. But, looks like people aren’t following banks instruction which is continuously resulting in cyber crime.
