There are good joke, bad jokes and then there are stupid jokes. An Ahmedabad Businessman Atu Patel joked about planting a bomb or being a suicide bomber without thinking about its result is now landed in deep trouble.
TOI reports, a man named Atul Patel(35), who was on his way to attend a business meeting in Dubai, told a CISF official at the Mumbai airport security checkpoint that he is a ‘suicide bomber’ and he should be frisked immediately.
CISF officials took an immediate action examined Patel, who owns a travel agency for an hour. His baggage was scanned but nothing was found. Then, his baggage was checked thoroughly.
When the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials asked him to give in writing what he told them, he wrote on a piece of paper “I am a suicide bomber, check me quickly,” the report quoted a police officer from Sahar Police Station. He did not give any explanation about why he did this.
A day before airport security received a mail claiming that explosives were loaded on three flights, including Air India flight that was forced to land in London.
Police have charged the businessman under Sections 505 (1) (rumour to intent cause fear) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Patel was produced before a local court which remanded him to police custody till July 1, reports TOI.
