Arguments between a couple on several issues is a routine life. One of that several issues is a TV remote. In Chennai, a Husband denied changing a channel which resulted in a heated argument and husband stabs wife, who is now battling for her life.
The incident took place on Thursday at Ayothi Nagar near Triplicane. According to TOI Couple watching television together when victim Usha, 47 demanded she wants to watch something else. Meanwhile, her husband 50 YO Veeran denied changing a channel who at that time was watching old songs.
After he denied changing a channel, Usha and Veeran started arguing which slowly resulted in a heated one and her husband began verbally abusing. Immediately, Veeran pushed her on the floor and she sustained multiple injuries after hitting a table. Usha retaliates and slapped her Husband.

This made Veeran furious who went to the kitchen and came back with a knife and threats to stab her. However, Usha did not back off and he stabbed her multiple times with injuries on the chest, stomach and neck. Neighbours came to the house after hearing the screaming noises and rushed Usha to Government Royapettah Hospital.
The condition of the victim is said to be critical. Neighbours informed Police that fight over the remote is regular between the two. Veeran who fled away from the spot is now arrested under attempt to murder.
