A Total Of 36 Girls Stop Going To School Because Of Eve Teasing In Ekpadhaha, Bihar

Just days after 34 girls were beaten up, now a total of 36 girls stopped going to school due to the harassment they face on their way to school. The incident is said to be of Saharsa school in Ekpadhaha village.

The latest incident of harassment was reported on October 4 when two girls, were stopped by the man when on the way to school, then assaulted them.

When some boys, including one of the victim’s brothers, came over to rescue them, accused thrashed them terribly and later ran away. One of the boys returned home with a fractured hand.

One of the victim talking to Aaj Tak said — Eve teasing is a primary problem here. All this is going on from last four years. They would hurl abuses, pass on lewd comments and sing obscene Bhojpuri songs. It was very depressing for me, she added. Girls remain quiet because they feared being dropped out of the school.

When the family members of the victim filed a complaint in the police station, the police officials have not even visited the village for investigation till October 4. The police have not yet made any arrest in the case.

These girls are now seeking an expecting helps from the Bihar Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar for protection from eve-teasers so that they can start their school.
