Drunken Thief Falls Asleep After Breaking The House, Handed Over To Cops

A strange incident took place on Wednesday in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. A man broke into the house for stealing but was caught napping on the sofa. The thief was so drunk that he falls asleep after entering the house.

The incident happened with Sudarshan, a resident of Ullas Junction in Uppinangady police station limits in Dakshina Kannada. The man who entered the house is identified as Anil Sahani, a native of Bihar’s Majipur district.

On Wednesday morning Sudarshan noticed that the tiles of his roof were removed. He then noticed an unknown person taking a nap on his couch. Sudarshan woke him up by hitting with a stick and handed him to the police.

A police official told:

“The thief, Anil had entered the house on Tuesday night by removing a tile on the roof. But instead of stealing items from the house, he fell asleep on the sofa after grabbing a bunch of keys kept near the TV stand.”

“It appears he was too inebriated and fell asleep. We are investigating whether he is linked to other cases of theft reported in the area.” 

A case has been registered in the Uppinangady police station charging Anil with the attempt of theft.
