Online shopping in the world as well as in India is increased at a tremendous rate. Half a decade ago shopping online was not on the Indian list but a huge turn around came, and now the majority of shopping is done online.

There are multiple reason people prefer to buy online. Various sales during festive season which fetch a hefty discount is a major one. Getting items delivered home is another advantage. All these benefits of online shopping are causing huge trouble to the offline retailers in every festive season.

Due to the low sale businessmen all over India are angered. But, in Surat shopkeeper find a strange way of opposing the online sales. In a meeting called by the union where the businessmen gathered to talk about the ways to deal with the crisis that has come with the increasing of online shopping. The shopkeepers mutually decided to order expensive and huge items that include washing machine, fridge, microwave oven.

Later when the order starts to get delivered all of them decline to receive the delivery. As of now, 2000 orders have returned without even receiving by the shopkeepers and businessmen. The store of courier companies are now full of articles and is forced to keep it outside the store. The parcels are lying outside on the roadside because of the packages returned altogether.

The courier companies are putting their employees on shift duties to safeguard the items since they are lying outside. According to Newsd, this was started by Sangmenar’s Mobile Retailers Association as a part of a protest against the online shopping trend that is deserting the retail market even during the festive season. According to the businessmen, so far, they have returned orders costing around Rs 100 crore.

Same news have also been heard from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
