He was quite popular in his neighbourhood because he used to offer rides at a reasonable price which led jealously in the fellow rickshaw drivers.

Last Wednesday around 5 in the morning main accused Babu had heated arguments with Narayana over a fare issue. It turned out to be violent, and Babu started to hit Narayana, who fell to the ground after having sustained several blows and kicks.

Nearby driver’s who witnessed the incident tried to stop Babu and informed family member who rushed to the spot and took him to the hospital.

 “He was friendly with commuters and would help them out because of which he was very popular in the area. The other autorickshaw drivers, who would charge exorbitant fares, felt that he was ruining their business. They were also envious of his popularity, as people would ask for him first,” said the police.
