In Tamil Nadu’s, Nagapattinam a 42-Year-Old man is arrested for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman identified as his son’s girlfriend. The accused is identified as Nithiyanandham. He runs a garment shop in Vedaranyam.
The victim was said to the accused son N Mukesh Kannan’s girl-friend. Nithyanandham decided to cause a rift between his son and his girl-friend as he did not want the relationship to move forward. He planned to meet his son’s girlfriend and called her in Sembodai as he wanted to discuss her plans for marriage.
When the 20-year-old woman came to Nithyanandham’s house. The garment shop owner snatched the woman’s mobile phone and tied a mangal sutra around her neck and later he raped her.
The accused allegedly confined the woman to his house for two days and he continued to sexually abuse her. After this, the accused took the survivor to his friend’s house and confined her there.
Meanwhile, Kannan, the woman’s boyfriend learned about the incident and rescued the survivor. He also informed the Vedaranyam police about the incident and the accused was arrested.
