Yesterday a horrific video clip, now viral had emerged from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. In the video, the cop can be seen abusing and lady constable can be seen trashing a girl in a van for choosing Muslim partner. The girl is rescued from Vishva Hindu Parishad members. But, later Cops started acting as Vishva Hindu Parishad activists.
“All the four cops seen in the video are suspended, and departmental enquirers is initiated against them.” — said Prashant Kumar, additional director general (ADG) of police, Meerut.
When TOI asked the SP Ranvijay Singh about why you have detained the couple as there is no criminal charge against them to which he replied: “We will let them go only after talking to girl’s parents to confirm if she is in some pressure in the relationship.” The Couple was freed later.
The video clip which shared on Twitter went viral in which the all the four cops are assaulting the girl. The lady constable sitting beside to the girl can be seen beating him. The one who is in the driver seat is recording the video.
Later the cop sitting in the front seat order the lady constable to remove the scarf. She immediately uncovers it. Then, a girl tries to cover her face from her hand as well.

The clip is widely shared on social media with Twitterati accusing the police personnel of “behaving like VHP activists”. “This is shocking. Yogi’s police beat up a young girl inside a van merely because she was friendly with a Muslim boy.
This is utter goonda raj of UP Police in the name of love jihad. Dismiss the cops. The case must be taken up in the Supreme Court,” wrote Prashant Bhushan noted activist and SC lawyer, on Twitter.
