Independence Day Special: Bollywood has made a lot of Patriotic Movies across the decades. In the current decade also we are witnessing the same. So, here on the occasion of 72nd anniversary of Indian Independence, we take a look of the movies which can perfectly fit in the list of Patriotism.
1. Airlift :
A movie based on 1990 airlift of Indians from Kuwait. Akshay Kumar in as Ranjit Katiyal, was an Indian businessman who decides to risk his life to save his stranded countrymen when Iraq invades Kuwait.
2. The Ghazi Attack :
A battle which never could have been known in so detail but, Bollywood made it loud and clear that it doesn’t go unnoticed. In 1971 an battle under the sea was fought against Pakistan destroying there submarine PNS Ghazi.
3. Raazi :
One more legendary story which could have gone unnoticed even after a novel named “Calling Sehmat” was out. An Indian spy marries a Pakistan man who helped India in 1971 war. Raazi was strongly appreciated and have done decent business.
4. Parmanu :
Parmanu — The Story of Pokhran based on Pokhran-II in which India tested and develop nuclear weapons in 1998 but, must ensure that American intelligence agencies do not learn about it. Another powerful story.
5. Phantom :
The movie isn’t based on real events or stories but, for every Indian wants that story to be true. Even thou critics didn’t appreciate the movie, but the audience loved it. Phantom is based on the revenge from the suspects of the 26/11 attacks after a spy agency hires the ex-army man who wants to restore his honour.
6. A Wednesday :
A Wednesday is a remake of Hollywood movie “A Common Man”. The movie was the directorial debut of Neeraj Pandey, and the movie received lots of love from the audience. The movie is based on retired police commissioner who recounts the most memorable case of his career wherein he was informed about a bomb scare in Mumbai. “A Wednesday” is one of the all-time classics.
7. Mulk :
Mulk was released on Aug 3rd and has received much love and affection from the audience as well as critics. The movie based on a real-life story. It revolves around the struggles of a Muslim joint family from India, who fight to reclaim their honour after a member of their family takes to terrorism.
Baby, Naam Shabana, Tiger Zinda Hai are also the movie you can watch out after all this Gold is released today. Paltan a film on Indo-China war of 1967 is all set to release next month.
