Naved Shaikh is another Indian Rappers who featured in the movie Gully Boy — The film which is based on the life of Divine and Naezy.

History of Hip-Hop and Rap In India:

The history of Hip-hop and Rap is deeply connected to Punjab and Punjabi’s. Going back to the history of Indian Rappers, it was in 1990 when the hip-hop was introduced to the Indian audience. Baba Sehgal was the introducer with Thanda Thanda Paani, Dil Dhadke.

In 20002, Vich Pardesan De, an album by Bohemia (American-Pakistani rapper) also gets credit for making Hip-Hop and Rap in Popular but not in all parts of India.

Yo-Yo Honey Singh with his first Bollywood song Shakal Pe Mat Ja in 2011 is the time when Rap started to reach every home. After he came into scene youths took rapping seriously. The last push but, that doesn’t mean Baba Sehgal and Bohemia’s contribution can be overlooked.
