Twitter is an amazing place to be. Few times users on Twitter had a melt town, for an instant, A man received more than 200 job offers after his banner “Homeless, Hungry 4 Success. Take a Resume” got viral on the social network. Once Twitter helped two friends meet after long 12 Years.
Recently, a Canadian writer and journalist Nicole Cliffe on Twitter asked her follower “What is the kindest thing a stranger has done or said to you?”
What is the kindest thing a stranger has done or said to you?

She shared her story of kindness from a stranger and then her followers on Twitter started to pour in their stories. Everyone started to share their heartwarming stories which are so satisfying to read.
Here are some of them:
I was standing, covered in puke, holding my now only diaper-clad baby & trying not to cry while business travelers glared at me, and then a flight attendant took my baby and gave me a pair of yoga pants from her carry-on & wrote her address on a napkin so I could mail them back.

A teenage boy called 911 for me after I got assaulted at a bus stop, & no one else helped. a week later when I went to the doctor to get my stitches removed, the doctor who did it happened to be the guy’s mother. It was unbelievable.

They were so sweet and patient with me. Who was like. Deeply anxious and needy and abused and unloved and all sorts of things. But they just shared their tab and trashy magazines and painted my nails blue and told me I was pretty and they liked my bathing suit.

So I talk to this guy and I answer questions, and I try to be encouraging and I’m maybe sounding a little frantic and I’m definitely ignoring the 4-5 customers in the store, and this angel of a woman puts her hand on my shoulder and asks for the phone.
“My turn,” she says.— 💁🏼♂️ (@TweetChizone) March 4, 2019

And SHE, this 50-something lesbian talks to this stranger on the phone. And a LINE FORMS BEHIND HER. Every customer in that store knows that call, knows that feeling, and every person takes a turn talking to that man.
That story comforts me so much to this day.— 💁🏼♂️ (@TweetChizone) March 4, 2019
Had a car with broken AC, it was 90+ in Kansas City, driving with the windows down and pulled up at a stop light next to a construction site. I was braced for harassment when my dog poked his head out the window. One guy said “AWWW.” Then all the guys turned and said “AWWWWW!” pic.twitter.com/f4CqZxl4kP

When I was 8 mos pregnant I slipped on some ice & fell, knocked out cold. When I came to, there was a crowd of strangers around me, all without coats (this was in Saskatchewan, Canada in December). Their coats, I realized, were all on top of me, except the one under my head.

I had a miscarriage two weeks into a new job. Had no PTO; the doc agreed to do d&c Friday at 7pm so I could go to work the next Monday. I learned in post op it was her night off and she came in anyway to help me out

So I’m rushing home to pick her up from the nanny and get her to the hospital. Pushing past people on the way to the subway, etc. Trying to get off a crowded train, I realize the doors are going to close before I get off.

We were at the hospital for HOURS but it turned out she was totally fine (and still is, almost 7 years later!). Will always remember that guy on the subway.

I’d lost my job, my laptop fried, and my car broke down, all within 2 days.
I was sitting in the car shop, worrying quietly to a friend on the phone abt the cost, then 10mins later the mechanic handed me my keys & said the lady ahead of me overheard & paid for the repair. 😭

He put out his hand to shake. Explained he honked but noticed his error when he saw the woman so honked again to say sorry. He followed me to personally apologize so he wouldn’t ruin my day. We shook hands. Changed me forever. And I was glad he didn’t waste me. 2/2

He came up to me and with the GENTLEST VOICE IN THE WHOLE WORLD asked me if I was okay, if there was anything bothering me, and if there was anything that I wanted to talk about.

One passenger followed the guy while calling 911 to give description & location & came back to wait with me. Much later, I heard him ask the officers to write him a note, vouching for why he was late for his probation officer. I think about him & his selflessness often (2/2)

The best part of the story, though, is that his friends kept saying he should just call the cops and he said something along the lines of ‘we don’t call the cops on people in mental health distress, it isn’t safe, I’ll meet up with you guys later.’

We ended up sitting around the gate sharing sob stories. One guy was in the army and headed home post-deployment for Christmas to see his little girl. We got to chatting and he was very kind.
Then the announcements: a bunch of people got seats for the next flight, but not me.

I was able to spend Christmas with my family. He didn’t.
I’m still choked up about this 15 years later.
