It was the ship that launched a thousand memes. Social media users sharing viral images of a giant container vessel wedged into the banks of the Suez Canel in Egypt as they convert it into hilarious memes.
The Ever Given first got stuck across the vital shipping route on Tuesday, with Egyptian authorities still desperately trying to shift the 59-meter (193-foot) wide and 400-meter (1,312-foot) longship.
Internet users were quick to point out the humor behind small tugboats and excavators trying to push and pull the Ever Given free of the canal’s banks.
