Back in 2015, Government banned porn in India with the user not able to access major adult website at that time. That time people opposed strongly and the decision was reversed. Now again the Government has ban porn without making a sound so people can’t protest.
News agency PTI reports that the government has directed Internet service providers to block 827 websites that host pornographic content following an order by the Uttarakhand High Court.
The order came on September 28 and the court had said that internet service providers would have to ban the sites or may face cancellation of their licence. The directive was to block or curb access to the mentioned pornographic sites to avoid adverse influence on the impressionable minds of children.
Jio silently banned sites and later came to light when user complaint on Twitter and Reddit about not able to access the website.
