We are in 2019. And Bollywood has to understand that sexism will not be accepted in the form of Entertainment. Bollywood is an industry that gets immense media coverage. Every movie is promoted so, that it reaches everyone. And if the movie is promoting sexism jokes it affects people.

We recently saw Kabir Singh, which is in many controversies and makers are defending. The same issue was with Housefull 4. And now Pati Patni Aur Woh faces severe backlash for making fun of the very sensitive issue like rape.
The trailer of the movie dropped yesterday starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday. Kartik’s character is similar to his previous movies featuring the actor going on a rant against women. The storyline is similar to 1978’s movie but this one particular dialogue by Kartik has sparked massive outrage online.
“Biwi se sex maang lein, toh hum bhikaari. Biwi ko sex mana kar dein, toh hum atyachaari aur kisi tarah jugaad laga ke uss se sex haasil kar lein na toh balaatkaari bhi hum hain.”
If there isn’t consent of both the people involved. It is rape. It always is. And how much more time will Bollywood need to understand this. Karthik Aryan monolog in the trailer of Pati Patni aur Woh is promoting it.
People took Twitter to express their anger and disappointment. They also explain their concern about how these Bollywood movies are taking the country a few steps backward.
