And if I’m not wrong the name didn’t go well with the majority of people. The name was heavily criticised on social media. But, at an event a which looks be the renaming event a reporter asked a question.
Q : Also, I can’t understand capitals. What does Capitals means.?
The question was asked to the owner of the team Mr GM Rao, who in the blink of an eye passed a question to the person standing beside him on the stage. Here’s the clarification is given.
A : Capital’s is, you’re from the capitals. This (Delhi) is the capital city of the country. So, how do you.!
It’s the way of the calling the team. If you look at the teams, they all have Mumbai Indians. It’s not Mumbai Indian.
So, you can ask what is Indian, but, it’s Indians. So that’s the answer for that. Capitals is you’re from the capital. That’s what it means. Its inclusive.
