Press Club Of India Says Kangana Ranaut Behaviour Is Unacceptable, Supports Boycott of Her

Recently, in a press conference for her upcoming movie Judgemental Hai Kya song launch even, an ugly war begins with the journalist from PTI, Justin Rao and Kangana Ranaut accused him of ridiculing her film Manikarnika and giving it bad press.

The video of the spat between the two went viral.

Yesterday, the Entertainment Journalists Guild of India told producer Ekta Kapoor that they would be boycotting the actress. They demanded the apology from Ekta Kapoor the producer of Judgemental Hai Kya and the actress Kangana Ranaut.

Ekta Kapoor apologised, but Kangana sent legal notice and posted a video saying that she would not apologise.

The Press Club of India on Saturday said it supports the decision of the Entertainment Journalists Guild to boycott actor Kangana Ranaut for refusing to apologise for lashing out at a PTI reporter during a press conference.

The statement read:

“We the Press Club of India are aghast, anguished and shocked at the incident involving an actress of Bollywood using uncivilised, uncultured, filthy and abusive language against the media persons. We condemn it in the strongest possible words.

This behaviour and hurling abuses towards journalists is unacceptable. We support the decision of the boycott by the journalists covering the entertainment industry in Mumbai namely Entertainment Journalists Guild

The Entertainment Journalists Guild, which first raised the issue, has pointed out that this is not the first time Ms Ranaut and her manager-sister have insulted and abused journalists. It has become part of their unprofessional conduct”

The Uttar Pradesh State Accredated Correspondents Committee (UPSACC) has also expressed anger over the incident and demanded an unconditional apology from the actor.
