Esha Gupta is in the news but, for all the wrong reason. We know Bollywood loves Football and so as Esha Gupta hasn’t hide her love for Arsenal Football Club. She is the brand ambassador for the team.
The recent Instagram story of the actress has left not just Arsenal fans but everyone to doubt her choice.

A screenshot posted by Esha Gupta on her Instagram story which says racist comments against Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi.
Alex Iwobi is a Nigerian International, the Arsenal academy graduate. Esha Gupta with her friend was criticising Iwobi for his performance. Arsenal recently lost 3-1 against Man Utd in the FA Cup 4th round, and the talk might be of the same game as well.
In the screenshot her friend calls Alex Iwobi a “neanderthal” and “gorilla faced” and, Esha laughs it off.
How do you feel about an Arsenal brand ambassador making these racist comments about an Arsenal Academy graduate? @Arsenal pic.twitter.com/Dfcpvl58mF

These sort of insensitive comments coming from the brand ambassador for the Arsenal Academy Graduate didn’t go well. Twitter altogether go against the remark made by her.
This needs to be investigated further. A lot of us Nigerian gooners aren’t taking it. @alexiwobi is our boy. We will not stand and watch him been dehumanised and not act.
Take not @Arsenal.

Disgraceful

This is pathetic and should be treated accordingly.
Alex Iwobi has improved this season yet his own family members (Arsenal fans) don’t like him. Why are we like this.
I Love you @alexiwobi thank you for always giving your best to my darling @Arsenal— Aguma Chima (@DeyCallMeKoke) January 28, 2019
I did know that she was getting trolled nonstop for some racist thing…. didn’t know the exact issue..

After facing a backlash from the Arsenal Fans around the world, Esha Gupta on Twitter came up with an apology.
Guys m sorry you thought it was racist. Was bad on my part, being a sports lover. Wallah never meant it. Sorry guys forgive the stupidity 🙏🏽 #gooner4life
— Esha Gupta (@eshagupta2811) January 27, 2019

However, the damage was already done and can’t be repaired. The Gooners aren’t in the mood of accepting the apology from the actress.
I’m extremely proud to be a supporter of a club that has historically been at the forefront of the fight against racism and homophobia that are so prevalent in the game even today. You’ve failed that legacy. You need to resign. You’re no ambassador for our club’s values.

It was not directed towards racism,it was racism. It is a shame someone like you is an “ambassador” to the club
— NKWOR🇳🇬 (@Chinoxzy) January 27, 2019
Arsenal have spent years working on kicking racism out of football. Wright, Vieria, Campbell, Henry some of the clubs greatest players are black and your actions degrade them all. You have no business being in football. Resign.

“I’m sorry you thought it was racist,” no it WAS racist. Actually fucking apologize to Alex

The comments from the Bollywood actress are irresponsible and insensitive. Football is a game which doesn’t promote racism at any cost and these comment from an ambassador of a club is heartbreaking for me as well as all Gunners fans.
